What you guys been up to recently ? As expected, this is another schedule update on weekends, the topic for this week will be our university- Curtin Bentley Campus. Since i've updated about my hostel, i thought it might be a great idea to shoot a couple of photos and upload it on my blog too. Coincidentally, it was our uni's annual Open Day too, they have organized quite an amount of exciting and awesome activities and welcome all range of people to participated. I was pretty much attracted by some "Writing Skills" talk and decided to check it out, but it was kinda disappointing since they were focusing on the presentation on HOW curtin prepares undergraduates to the working society via their Professional Writing Program (PWP) or to make it short, major in Journalism, Publishing etc......
Cut the crap and i shall start with some of the highlights in this week, so it was my housemate's birthday earlier ago but i was not aware of this event so i've missed this, feeling bad since he has helped me quite a lot since i came and had my stay in Vickery, so i've figured it out that it will be great if i can throw a party for him and cook him some nice food. Shu En was invited to join the party, as well as Yoga, another housemate of mine (staying next to my room).
You guys probably have seen all these over facebook and not to be cocky but these were GOOD, i doubt i can cook the same standard if someone were to ask me to do it again, anyway, we had this Braised Chicken Wings, Nameless Fried Rice and Home-made Lam Mee. The Lam Mee was a huge success, it was literally my first attempt and i did it quite well, the standards are above par compared to some restaurants :P
Had Subway for my lunch that day, surprisingly the price was quite affordable since a bowl of noodle might cost like Aud 12 or so but this foot-long Ham Honey Oat thingy costs me like Aud 7 only and it could lasts for 2 meals, with some other additional bread of mine of course. They are good in making the bread and what shocked me was, the bread won't even turn soggy after so many hours whilst those deceiving breads in Penang can't even last for 30 minutes. Taste-wise, i find it pretty much normal and nothing to shout over but i do noticed that the sauces they've used in Penang were much sweeter compared to Australia.
My hostel- Vickery has prepared quite a lot of activities for us to join throughout the semester (we've paid for it, semester activity fee was Aud 70), so we had this so called English Afternoon Tea session at the common room area (FOC or rather, we've paid for it in advance), food sucks, and it suits those pathetic eat-to-live human beings with paralyzed taste buds. I heard some of the girls from China (obviously from their slang) were saying that: "好吃好吃,晚餐可以不用吃". That was one of the saddest thing i've heard in Perth, they were either having paralyzed taste buds OR they were/are too poor to eat even instant noodles but most likely its the first assumption. Did they just accidentally serve the wrong food to us (which was meant to be served for pigs)? I can't even bother to finish my portion and just headed off to my unit after a short while, my mouth deserves something more exquisite.
I will/ must pass by all these Engineering buildings whenever i want to go for class. Just shot them for fun.
My Decision Analysis class will be held here every Wednesday Evening.
Curtin Bookshop, where our original books were shipped from here.
The building (in red) behind all these shady trees is Curtin Library, they have free Chinese newspapers and
These were the games provided by curtin to have those visitors enjoyed themselves during the day. They do have some freebies to give away too, very much unlikely as compared to Inti's. I have no idea where they shipped these animals around to our uni anyway, tho they might looked adorable at first glance, but you definitely don't want to step closer due to the pungent smell from their feces. I did not join any of the activities but rather, i just snap around every corner of curtin due to the scheduled post on this blog. For more photos, kindly hop over to my facebook album, higher resolution could be seen over there too.
Cam-whoring after that, was using a tripod and all the sudden, my planking mode strikes. I wonder how long i haven't been planking ever since last year. I miss planking in Inti, the tables were kinda comfy for me, perhaps i should plank more in my hostel or outside (the grass ?). Time flies, it has been 1 month ever since i had my butt stick on the chair in my room, i guess i still have another 3 months to get my butt stick on the chair huh, can't wait to go back and escape from this horrible lifestyle of staring at walls/windows everyday. Alright for now, i still have some tutorials to catch up with, do miss me okay ? :) :) :)
